What are daily lessons?
These short lessons cannot substitute speaking on a regular basis, which is the best way to improve. These lessons are a great way to keep improving in between lessons. They are short readings and videos selected by Marcus to help you save time and energy. It is not easy to stay motivated and even when you are motivated, it is difficult to find something new and interesting every day. I will take care of that for you, making it very simple for you to improve your English skills every single day!

Improve your reading skills and vocabulary
Eleven-year-old Jorja Boller wanted to cheer up older adults in the nursing homes around her hometown of Beatrice, Nebraska. And when she thought of who makes her smile when she feels lonely, she knew her little pony Peanut would have to pay them a visit while they are isolated during the coronavirus pandemic. “We brushed him and braided his hair with some colored pipe cleaners,” Jorja told CNN. ” And we put on a unicorn horn but he shook that off!” Jorja and her 8-year-old sister Jurnee led Peanut up to the windows of the nursing homes. Staff on the phone helped facilitate conversations with the residents. “I would talk to them … and Peanut was acting up so he put on quite a show.” Jorja explained. “And of course, my sister was dancing around.” The residents really enjoyed seeing Peanut. Some would follow the girls and their pony from window to window.
cheer up – When you cheer up or when something cheers you up, you stop feeling depressed and become more cheerful.
nursing homes – a small private institution providing residential accommodation with healthcare, especially for elderly people.
hometown – the town of one’s birth or early life or of one’s present fixed residence.
to pay them a visit – to go somewhere to spend time with (someone, such as a friend or relative)
braided – form (hair) into a braid or braids
acting up – to act in a way different from that which is normal or expected: such as. a : to behave in an unruly, recalcitrant, or capricious manner the children were acting up.
put on quite a show – you can use the phrase “he/she put on a show” anytime in English when saying that someone truly did something great, or if they act stupidly in excess.
