Sandra Kunz wanted to keep working as a Walmart cashier even as the coronavirus spreadDespite a lung condition, the 72-year-old in Aurora, Colorado, needed to get her paycheck, according to her sister, Paula Spellman. Her husband, Gus, was injured and out of work, and the couple had bills dueKunz died on April 20 from complications related to the coronavirus, her sister said. Gus, who was also sick from the virus, died two days before his wife. While it is unclear how the couple contracted the virus, Spellman said her sister had expressed concerns about customers at Walmart coughing on her at the cash registerWalmart says it has instituted several safety measures in its stores, including providing masks and erecting sneeze guards, or plexiglass barriers, to protect its workers from the coronavirus. The cash register has emerged as the most dangerous place in the store, according to public health and worker safety experts. Every item cashiers touch, scan and bag has been handled by customers and other workers. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says it is possible that a person can get coronavirus by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it.

Chefs Adam Bordonaro and Ryan Lory opened their first restaurant in 2019. Ardyn, an intimate, romantic spot in the Greenwich Village neighborhood of New York City, received immediate attention, with rave reviews from the media and diners and a packed dining room and bar. The two men have been close friends for seven years, meeting at Charlie Palmer’s Steak, where they both worked and staying in touch as the two walked parallel paths. Almost exactly one year after opening, all restaurants in New York City were shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic, and Ardyn’s brief, shining run came to an abrupt halt. “We wanted to do something that would allow someone at home to replicate the restaurant’s quality and spirit in their home,” says Lory. The meal kits include seven courses — the current menu will be changed next week — with citrus-cured Hamachi, charred broccoli and 45-day dry-aged Wagyu ribeye from Snake River Farms. The meals come ready to assemble, heat and plate, so nothing gets gross en route. There are detailed instructions, YouTube videos, a music playlist and an upsell to add bottled cocktails and wine pairings. The final piece of frivolity — the meals are delivered by two tuxedo-clad people wearing bunny masks. Because why not? The duo wanted to create something memorable and special, exclusive and strange to help break up the monotony of everyday.

For Zeke Quezada, the shaming was fierce and totally unexpected. There he was, mere blocks from his home in South Pasadena, California, walking with his wife and teenage son, when a mask-wearing, dog-walking neighbor stopped to chat. Standing at least 10 feet apart, the foursome loosely held court for about five minutes on the grass in front of the local library, catching up on the state of the world and the challenges of homeschooling. Then the yelling began. The screams came from another neighbor — an older woman Quezada did not recognize. On and on she prattled about social distancing. Calmly, Quezada explained that he, his wife and his son all lived in the same house. The woman turned her ire toward the dog walker, even though he was well beyond the 6-foot-minimum guidelines laid out by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. “She shrugged and looked at us with disgust,” said Quezada, who has lived in the neighborhood for nearly two decades. “Under normal circumstances, I might have told her to mind her own business, but I understood she was concerned.” Thankfully, the ugly incident petered out after a series of disgusted looks. Still, it was uncomfortable, unfortunate and awkward for everyone involved. Interactions like this one are becoming commonplace these days, sparked largely by a difference of opinions on social distancing recommendations across the country. As states begin to relax certain rules about who can go where, when and how, neighbors who once got along peacefully now are experiencing and exacerbating tensions over simple choices that could — at least in theory — put everyone in the community at risk.

May is a month to celebrate college graduates and their achievements, wishing them well as they begin their career with a hard-earned degree under their beltGraduation, however, looks different this year. The coronavirus outbreak has caused universities across the country to postpone their annual ceremonies or conduct them virtually. And afterward, graduates will face one of the bleakest job markets in history. With more than 30 million Americans applying for unemployment benefits and many companies reducing internships and entry level positions, college grads are left facing an uphill battle just when they thought their future could finally begin. According to Glassdoor, internship hiring fell 39% year-over-year in April with declines across all industries. The hardest-hit sectors were travel and tourism, information technology and media and publishing.

5-year-old boy with $3 in his pocket was pulled over by Utah police while driving his parent’s car to California to buy a Lamborghini. The boy left in the SUV after arguing with his mother, who said she would not buy the luxury car for him, Utah Highway Patrol said on Twitter. A trooper spotted the vehicle weaving on Interstate 15 at 30 mph, the Utah Highway Patrol said. Troopers told CNN they initially thought the boy was an impaired driver. Morgan told CNN he had to help the child get the SUV into park. “He was sitting on the front edge of the seat so that he could reach the brake pedal to keep the car stopped while I was standing there,” he said. Once he was pulled over, the child told the trooper he had intended to drive to California to purchase a Lamborghini for himself. He had $3. The starting price for a new Lamborghini is around $200,000. Morgan says no one was hurt, and it will be up to the local prosecutor to decide whether to file charges against the parents, who had left the boy in his sibling’s care while they were away from home.

What are daily lessons?

These short lessons cannot substitute speaking on a regular basis, which is the best way to improve. These lessons are a great way to keep improving in between lessons. They are short readings and videos selected by Marcus to help you save time and energy. It is not easy to stay motivated and even when you are motivated, it is difficult to find something new and interesting every day. I will take care of that for you, making it very simple for you to improve your English skills every single day!
